My Bucket List

Hello friends! I thought we needed to lighten up a little bit and do a fun post after a few serious ones :) I was recently inspired to come up with a bucket list to share with ya'll. Some of these will be realistic achievable things and others maybe not as much, so here goes in no particular order:

  1. Have a vegetable garden. Friends who know me, hear me out (I know you know I'm not good at keeping plants alive LOL). But dream with me a little bit, how sweet would it be when I have kids someday, living the stay at home mom life and one of our summer activities is to be out in the garden. I picture my toddler helping me pick the vegetables and my sweet little baby sitting next to me in their little sunhat watching us before we head into the house to make a yummy dinner with said vegetables.

  2. Write a book. This one intimidates me. I get overwhelmed thinking about all that it would entail and deciding on topics to write about. And then add to that the editing process where they pick it all apart. I've started and then convinced myself I don't have anything to offer the world in a book. Maybe someday.

  3. Learn how to do pottery. I think pottery is so cool. I think it would be fun to learn how to do the potters wheel specifically.

  4. Do one unassisted pull up. Just one, lol. For the defeated little girl who felt like a failure for not being able to do one in gym class for the dreaded presidential testing each fall and spring.

  5. Learn how to play the piano. I took piano lessons as a kid but didn't stick with it and now all I can play is twinkle twinkle little star. I would love to be able to play, mainly so I can play and sing worship songs in my own time with the Lord/with my family someday.

  6. Be on the show "Dancing with the Stars." Lol, okie obviously not realistic (is it even on anymore?). I always loved watching it growing up and I think it'd be super fun to learn the variety of couple dances and to compete!

  7. Be the cool, hospitable mom. Not like the "I'll let you get away with anything" cool mom more like, I want my kids to enjoy being home and inviting their friends over for dinner, game nights, and life chats. I want my home to be a stable, safe, comfortable space for anyone who walks into it.

  8. Get better at roller blading and ice skating. This one I've kind of been working on already sort of, inconsistently. My niece has had her birthday party at a roller rink a few years in a row now, so I'm getting more comfortable on roller blades. I also invested in hockey skates a couple years ago so I can ice skate in the winter. Unfortunately, this last winter was not a good ice skating kind of winter. But I want to get better at these things so that I can take my kids some day and be confident in these activities myself so I can teach them.

  9. Travel for a whole year. This will never happen, haha. I just think it would be amazing to take a year to explore the world. A new place every month, in and out of the country. Preferably not alone!

  10. Go back to school and get degree in counseling. If money was not a factor and being a stay at home mom wasn't my ultimate dream, I would pursue a degree in counseling with a focus on trauma and integrating faith in the process of healing.

Well friends that is all for now, that was fun to think through! I hope you enjoyed reading and perhaps it inspired you to think of things you want to add to your bucket list.

Until next time,

Melissa
